Main themes The course is based on the three main areas outlined above (see Objectives).
Aims To become familiar with the academic and social issues in current research on adult training and, more specifically : - the special epistemological features of research on training, their goals and methods ; - the way current academic and social research on training is structured in relation to its historico-cultural context ; - the research topics examined in the different centres involved in the international degree in adult professional development.

The course is based on the three main areas outlined above (see Objectives). This seminar takes place, on a residential basis, at the Autumn University and brings together UCL students studying professional development with students from other partner universities doing the international degree on adult training. It is led by the UCL lecturer of the seminar as well as lecturers from the partner universities. There are workshops and plenary sessions for presentations and discussion.
