Main themes Lessons are given in German, with the option of explanations in French. The documentation most used are legal texts, but also doctrine extracts, dictionaries and databases that include legal terminology.
Aims 1. In general: a passive knowledge of legal texts and doctrine in a foreign language and introduction to an active knowledge. 2. In particular: (a) acquiring basic legal terminology in all areas of law; (b) learning a translation method that evaluates the extent to which legal terms in a foreign language can be expressed using their French counterparts. The aim is for readers who have no knowledge of the original text to be able to grasp the arguments without confusion; (c) an introduction to the professional use of specialised reference books, especially legal dictionaries.

Sources of international law Method Examination of problems concerning terminology based on legal texts and special glossaries of terms.
