Main themes Teaching approaches characterization and dating methods of sample from archaeological sites according to artefact categories and research objectives.
Aims General training for students in Archaeology. It approaches sciences, techniques and methods of Laboratory used for the characterization and dating of archaeological artefacts.
Content Theoretical part concerns methods developed by Natural Sciences (Dendrochronology, Palynology, Plant Macrorest research, Archaeozoology), by Earth Sciences (Pedology, Petrography) and Physico-chimics methods (X-Ray Fluorescence, Thermoluminescence, Carbon-14) Practical part will carry out talk, report and experiment into laboratories. Compulsory readings: Five main titles must be read and will be presented and commented during sessions.
