This course aims more particularly at developing competences linked with guidance and intervention:
- know and find out the theoretical models, techniques and practices in the field of educational and professional guidance;
- identify the problems linked with educational and vocational choices as well as the context in which they surge (personal, familial, academic, professional);
- conceive the adapted measures to help, recommend and educate the guidance which mobilize the resources of the individual, the group and the people around, and the systems;
- evaluate the efficiency of the proposed measures and practices in a team work, often interdisciplinary.

Theoretical models in the field of educational and professional guidance: psycho-technical approach, development approach, socio-cognitive approach and sociological approach.
Techniques used in advisory and education to guidance: testing, interview and review of competences.
Content and teaching methods
The course is made up of three parts. The first review most of the present theoretical models in the field of educational and vocational guidance. The presentation of these models is organized in function of four approaches: the psycho-technical approach, the development approach, the socio-cognitive approach and the sociological approach. The second part of the course consist of a presentation of the techniques mostly used in the practice of advisory or education to guidance, including testing, interview and review of competences. The third part is devoted to the application of the first two parts in real problematic situations of guidance "during the course of life": guidance in the compulsory education, higher education choice, research of a first job, and reorientation during the career.
The pedagogic methods used are, on the one hand, ex-cathedra lectures related to the presentation of theoretical models, and on the other hand, workshop with simulations and exercises to familiarize with the techniques of advisory in guidance and finally, interventions of experimented practitioners who will explain the professional activity in the field of guidance.

Evaluation: The evaluation will be carried out in the form of an oral exam with time to prepare and open book. There will also be a work to apply the content of the course to the personal situation of the student.
