To introduce students to the examination of language problems in aphasics. To introduce them, more briefly, to all the examination methods in neuropsychology for memory and attention problems, praxias and gnoses.
Main themes
Students will be introduced to the clinical tools available for examination of oral and written language problems from phonological/graphemic, lexical, semantic and syntactic perspectives. The theoretical presuppositions underlying assessment tools, as well as their functional outcome, are considered.
Examination methods for other cognitive functions will be more briefly introduced with emphasis on the interactions between the functioning of language and other fields of cognitive activity.
