The main objective of this course is to acquire the key concepts in geomorphology as to understand dynamic landscape evolution. Geomorphic markers and several dating techniques will be discussed in detail, so that students get a thorough knowledge of quantitative geomorphology.
Main themes
Practical skills
o An ability to interpret current hillslope and channel morphology in their geological context
o An ability to understand the temporal and spatial variability of geomorphic processes
o An ability to explain landscape development using the appropriate scientific language
Personnel skills
" to develop a scientific interest for geomorphic questions related to the link between morphology, climate and tectonic activity.
" to discover the main geomorphic structures of the Ardennes Massif that are conditioning its long-term landscape development
