The international activity of the European Union is multidimensional. The course takes a broader approach than the one which consists in segmenting the EU policy in various parts. The course, after a description of the different instruments of the external action, tries to examine the global relationship with some important regions of the world, in fields like trade, development cooperation, external security and defense policy. The course presents the positions of the European Union regarding some important multilateral questions and analyses the problems related to the decision making process in external policy.
