To enable students to comprehend, though experimentation, some of the possibilities and limitations of journalistic writing, particularly in journals and magazines.
Main themes
The laboratory will mainly focus on two aspects of writing for the press, while adopting a logic of steady improvement:
development by the course of a personal writing style, and experimentation in particular journalistic genres (e.g. humorous sketches, law reports, and news in brief);
the ability to write for magazines.
Content and teaching methods
This progress in writing will be achieved through exercises in class and work in the field. Students will be expected to complete a magazine product in addition to individual exercises.
