Aims

- presentation of permanent collections;
- organisation of temporary exhibitions.

Main themes

- permanent collections: types of collections, design of the presentation, contents, use of space;
- temporary exhibitions: design, content, scenography, budget¿;
- development of educational benefits of permanent collections and temporary
exhibitions;
- publicising the event.

Content and teaching methods

Contents:
- status of works of art and museum objects;
- exhibition halls and museum reserves;
- movement of museum (pieces/objects/collections): loans to temporary exhibitions.

Style of teaching:
Introductory lecture followed by visits and courses at the museum (Musee de Louvain-la-Neuve, Musee royal de Mariemont¿..).

Compulsory reading:
J.-P. MOHEN, Les Sciences du patrimoine, identifier, conserver, restaurer, Paris, 1999.
