Aims

Advanced training of students who are interested in art and archaeology of Egypt and the Near East.

Main themes

The student will choose a theme connected to one of the concerned civilizations (Egypt, Near East), or will be interested in contacts between these two civilizations.

Content and teaching methods

The topic of the 2008/9 course on egyptian and oriental archaeology will be the the study of crafts and the changes that they cause in social life, economy and art. The students will prepare a paper and present it orally.

Required : to have followed successfully at least one of the courses ARKE of the orientation " Archaeology of Egypt and Ancient Near East ".
Evaluation : based on the lecture and the personal search of the student.
