Aims

This course is designed to prepare students for the practical use of different research procedures in scientific psychology : issues of data collection and description ; problems of correlative and experimental procedures, problems of laboratory and clinical experimentation.

Main themes

A detailed manual serves as a basic reference for this course. Students form small groups, select a topic for investigation and carry out practical research exercises on their chosen topic : this enables them to find out what the difficulties are. The course itself is a series of lectures and sessions doing exercises and questions and answers. The working groups are supervised by the lecturer in charge and the assistants.

Content and teaching methods

This course is designed to prepare students for the practical use of different research procedures in scientific psychology : formulation of hypotheses, review of the literature, data collection, descriptive, correlative and experimental procedures.
