Upon completion of the course the student should be able to distinguish the proper emphases as regards :
- teaching in the human sciences (other than history) at the secondary level in general ;
- teaching history and human sciences in certifiying and professional instruction.
Main themes
Based on programs of instruction as provided in the French-speaking Community of Belgium, and with support from examples of sequences in instruction, the course will cover :
- aims, objectives and methods that are appropriate in courses of human sciences, other than history ;
- aims, objectives and methods that are appropriate for the teaching of history and human sciences to students in certifying or professional programs.
Content and teaching methods
The course is comprised of theoretical lectures, analyse of exemples of lessons and practical exercises.

Pre-requisite :
Students should also be registered for the course " Teaching History and Examination of Program Content " (HIST 2311), for the teaching practice seminar for history (HIST 2313) and for student teaching (HIST 9001).
Evaluation :
The evaluation will support on lessons prepared by the student and concerning the teaching of human sciences in technical and professionnal instruction.
