Aims

Provide the student with thorough knowledge of the religions attested in the ancient Mediterranean. Scholarly approach to specific questions.

Main themes

For the Near East: study of the Anatolian religion, from prehistory to the fifth century B.C.
For Egypt: study of the Aton (Atonian?) religion, as contrasted to the Mosaic religion.
