Providing key reference points for understanding European news and its functioning, to students from various avenues of education. The "major focus" is "from declaration to implementation".
Main themes
In order to give the lecture a sence of actuality it is conducted, after an introductory session, around precise cases related to the recent news thereby illustrating a number of central relevant European themes (e.g. society values; citizenship; foreign policy; civilian and military crisis management; relationships with NATO, trade negotiations; budgetary issues; influence of lobbies...).
Content and teaching methods
These real cases linked to themes are presented and discussed in depth with the help of relevant experts (Commisssion, Council Secretariat, European Parliament, external industrial experts...). Workshops are organized and followed by oral presentation and discussions. A list of recommanded readings is provided ten days ahead.
