Aims

The student should have general acquaintance of the issues related to the sociology history and politics of the Arab World or at least of some of its components: the Maghreb countries, the Machrek and the Gulf states

Main themes

The main theme changes every year. But generally, the teacher chooses a theme which is considered
as a core issue having a direct linkage with the question of development: such as State and power in the Arab World, internal and external migrations, religion and development, democracy and civil society.
