Following this course should give the students the methodological instruments and the factual evidence to
understand the transformations of Arab societies and economics.
Main themes
The teacher makes a general introduction on the economic history of the Arab World before tackling specific issues related to the agricultural, industrial and services sectors.
The question of the development models and strategies applied in the Arab World is central in this course state. Public and private sector development are also touched upon in detail.
