The essential objective of training in legal practice organized by the Faculty for the students enrolled for the DREU, ETAT, FIRM or IURE is to enable the student enrolled in the second year of the Master's programme to gain experience in a professional environment in such a way that he/she can confront his theoretical knowledge with concrete situations appropriate to the professional sector in which his training will take place. He will thus have the opportunity to experience the putting into practice of legal rules, to obtain additional legal knowledge and to discover a working environment and human relations.
Main themes
The areas in which the student may complete his training vary greatly: this may involve the bar or the magistrature but also the private or public sector, all levels of the civil service and every level of authority, parliament and the associative sector. The training fits in with the extension of the objective chosen by the student.
The student admitted to training will be accepted during his second year of the Master's programme by a supervising teacher responsible for supervising him in his legal activity at the training location. The student will spend at least 90 hours at the training location. The trainee's skill and diligence and the quality of the work submitted will be the subject of a report by the supervising teacher.
The student who completes a training period within the Faculty will benefit from supervision by a supervising teacher and will be held to attend reunions and meetings organized by the latter.
The student will also be held to draw up an activity report in which he describes the circumstances in which he completed his/her training, the problems he/she faced, the tasks completed and the activities in which he/she participated. He/she will conclude this report with a critical personal analysis of the practical training with which he/she has been associated.
The student will be assessed by his training supervisor in accordance with the training rules.
