At the end of the course the student should be able to:
- Analyse the cranio facial growth in 3 dimensions: determine the type of growth based on a cephalometric analysis and clinical examination.
- Recognise muscular dysfunction in the oral and facial region, the consequences for the occlusion and the cranio facial growth and how to treat them.
- To know the basic principles of orthopaedic treatment.
- To know the possibilities and the limits of adult orthodontic treatment, orthodontic treatment combined with orhognatic surgery included.
- Prevention and interception in the deciduous dentition of the young patient.
- The causes of relapse in orthodontics and how to prevent it.
- The basic principles of treatment with removable and fixed appliances.
