Aims

Acquire an extensive comparative knowledge of demographic situations and evolutions of populations through-out the world in relation with the social and economic transitions of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Main themes

- Description and explanatory analysis of demographic changes by great sub-region in the world (Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia, etc.)
- Worldwide comparative analysis of demographic phenomena (fertility, mortality, nuptiality, migrations) and their determinants (socio-cultural, economic and political).
- In depth studies of specific countries.
