To be able to identify and reproduce Arabic sounds; to be able to read in scriptio plena and to write ; to know the Arabic alphabetic order ; to be able to build sentences without subordinate clauses, and to identify such sentences.
This course is preparatory to the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Main themes
- the sounds of Arabic and their phonetic Latin transcription;
- the Arabic alphabet;
- main conjugations and declensions;
- basic sentence structures.
Content and teaching methods
Contents:
- pronunciation in context, the alphabet and its Latin transcription, putting words in alphabetic order, reading and writing, first word vocabulary, word accentuation;
- basic conjugations and declensions: normal verbs, simple special verbs, normal nouns and adjectives, table of increased verbs;
- basic syntax: attributive adjectives, determining nouns, prepositional complements, non-prepositional circumstantial complements, nominal sentences, verbal sentences.
Methods:
- preparation at home and active participation are required;
- written exercises at home, written and spoken exercises in class.
