Aims
- appreciate the impact of biblical texts in one or more cultural fields (literature, plastic arts, music, e.g.);
- perceive how these texts are dealt with by the artists and in what extend this treatment constitutes a form of exegesis.
Main themes
- one or more important work of art (or group of works), mainly from the western culture and strongly influenced by biblical texts, will be analysed;
- particular attention will be paid to the presence of biblical material in these works of art and to the way in which it is assumed and transformed.
