Understanding the basic principles of the rural geography of Europe, including :
-qualitative description of rural landscapes and policies that influence them;
-quantitative models of the spatial location and diffusion of agricultural activities;
-case studies that demonstrate specific aspects of rural geography.
Understanding the main causes of environmental changes including:
-potential effects of these changes on the geography of Europe;
-the use of geographical models in the context of a changing world.

Main themes

The course "Géographie humaine et économique" (Human and economic geography) is made of three modules that correspond to three different course codes. The first module focuses on rural and environmental geography; the second module focuses on transport geography and urban geography; the third module focuses on the location of economic activities and on regional development. Each module can be followed independently of the others.
