Il contributo affronta il tema della topografia sacra nel centro romano di Tergeste, attraverso l’analisi di alcuni casi studio. La lettura complessiva del centro romano rimane per molti aspetti ancora carente, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la topografia religiosa, ma è possibile proporre alcuni contesti, che si distinguono per la qualità della documentazione archeologica ed epigrafica, come l’area capitolina, l’Iseo/Serapeo, il tempio alla Mater Magna e quello a Bona Dea.

Abstract:
This paper concerns the sacred topography of the Roman town of Tergeste, through the analysis of some case studies. The overall reading of the Roman centre is still unsatisfactory in many respects, especially concerning its religious topography; yet it is possible to examine some contexts, such as the Capitolium area, the Iseum/Serapeum, and the temples dedicated to Mater Magna and Bona Dea, whose archaeological and epigraphical documentation stands out due to its superior quality.
