Une inscription d’Uchi Maius (AE 1997, 1673; 173 ap. J.-C.) concerne de grands travaux au cœur de l’agglomération romaine. Il a été nécessaire de déplacer un temple afin d’achever la construction d’un aqueduc et d’édifier un monument des eaux. La permission du proconsul, qui était nécessaire, fut obtenue grâce à l’intervention d’un affranchi de l’empereur qui était vraisemblablement procurator regionis Thuggensis. On peut aussi supposer que les constructions furent réalisées sous le contrôle du curateur des travaux.

Great works at Uchi Maius at the time of Marcus Aurelius
An inscription from Uchi Maius (AE 1997, 1673; 173 ap. J.-C.) concerns great works in the heart of the Roman town. It was necessary to move a temple in order to complete the construction of the aqueduct and to build a water monument. The permission of the proconsul, which was required, has been obtained with an intervention of the imperial freedman who was certainly procurator regionis Thuggensis. We can suppose that all the buildings were made under the supervision of a work master.
