Abstract:
This paper argues that Aristotle in his dialogue Eudemus presented the god Kronos as bound by Zeus with the chains of sleep, but also as a being with Titanic emotions that may disturb his rational activity. Through this ‘double theology’, Aritotle opposed Plato’s theology. He posited a clear distinction between a transcendent Intellect (Zeus and a World-soul dependent on it (Kronos), which he also presented as world-archon.
