Abstract:
The surviving reports about, and fragments of, Aristotle’s lost dialogue On Philosophy indicate that this work consisted of three books. Book I discussed the origin and history of present philosophy. Book II contained some sustained criticisms of certain aspects of Plato’s philosophy. Book III dealt with cosmological and theological issues, stressing among other matters the uncreatedness and indestructibility of the universe. Book III also touches upon man’s knowledge of God and of His existence as well as upon the true nature of God.
