Acronym for Vertebral anomalies, Anal atresia, Cardiac defects, Tracheoesophageal fistula and/or Esophageal atresia, Renal & Radial anomalies and Limb defects

Prevalence is estimated at 1/10.000 to 1/40,000. Association, to varying degrees, of malformations according to the acronym of the syndrome.
A rare form of VATER is transmitted on a recessive mode or X-linked and include hydrocephalus (VACTER - H) [MIM 276 950, 314 390 ]
Anesthetic implications:
according to the importance of the associated malformations: intubation, vascular access, difficult neuraxial anesthesia
