SCALP syndrome
|
Acronym for Sebaceous nevus syndrome, CNS malformations, Aplasia cutis congenita, Limbal dermoid, and Pigmented nevus.
Extremely rare. It could be a variant of Schimmelpenning-Feuerstein-Mims syndrome (see this term).
Association of:
- an important sebaceous nevus in the head and neck region
- an aplasia cutis congenita (see this term) at the level of the scalp
- dermoid tumors
- central nervous system abnormalities: mainly melanosis
- a giant pigmented nevus
Anesthetic implications:
risk of epilepsy or of cerebral aneurysm
