Long QT syndrome, neonatal

There are two forms:

-        transient long QT syndrome, which normalizes after a few months. This form is often associated with a functional AVB.  A beta-blocking agent should be administered and, sometimes, associated with ventricular stimulation.

-        congenital long QT syndrome, which is the neonatal revelation of one of the forms of congenital long QT. The prognosis is bad and aggressive treatment is necessary especially if associated with syndactyly (see Long QT syndrome, congenital and Timothy syndrome).
