Pyogenic granuloma

(botryomycosis, lobulated capillary hemangioma)

Benign, small inflammatory vascular tumour, typical of childhood, often appearing at the extremities (fingers, toes) as a result of  a septic sting or microtrauma.

Clinical appearance: soft fleshy bud, bleeding easily. It is separated from the healthy skin at its base by a characteristic peripheral  furrow. It can be destroyed by cryotherapy, curettage-electrocoagulation or surgical removal.
