Lown-Ganong-Levine, syndrome

(Short PR - normal QRS syndrome)

Incidence : less than 1/106. Sporadic or autosomal dominant inheritance. Preexcitation syndrome by the bundle of James, without δ wave, unlike Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.

ECG : short PR ( 120 msec) with normal QRS.


Clinical picture: episodes of paroxysmal tachycardia.


Anesthetic implications: 

monitoring of the ECG. In case of atrial fibrillation, verapamil and digoxin are contraindicated.
