Lipschütz ulcer

Acute ulcer of infectious origin on the external genitalia (vulva, labia majora, labia minora) of women under 20 years of age.
The main causes are: EBV virus, mumps, mycoplasma, Streptococcus A.
Diagnostic criteria:
* major
- acute onset
- age < 20 years
- no history of suspicious sexual contact
- absence of immunodeficiency
- complete healing in less than 6 weeks
* minor
- necrotic well defined central part in a painful ulcerative lesion
- symmetric lesions
Differential diagnosis: sexually transmitted diseases, Crohn's disease, Behcet's disease
Anesthetic implications:
check total blood count if EBV infection is suspected
