Leukemia, myelomonocytic

Myelomonocytic leukemias or juvenile chronic myeloid leukemias look like chronic myeloid leukemias but are not associated with the presence of the Philadelphia chromosome. They mainly affect children under 2 years of age. They are more common in children with type 1 neurofibromatosis. Their treatment is poorly defined and bone marrow transplantation represents their best chance of recovery but their cure rate is much lower.
