GUCH

Acronym for Grown UCongenital Heart.


Generic term used to describe a child who grew up with a congenital heart defect which has been corrected (ASD, VSD, transposition of the great vessels, tetralogy of Fallot etc) or have benefited of interventions to make it viable (Fontan operation, for example).

According to the initial pathology and the interventions sustained, they may present with encounter specific problems can be present: A-V conduction disorders,  rhythm disorders, valvular or myocardial dysfunction.
