These forms are rare.

There are:

-        episodic ataxia type 3: ataxia, dizziness, tinnitus

-        episodic ataxia type 4, or vestibulocerebellar ataxia: ataxia, diplopia, nystagmus

-        episodic ataxia type 6: ataxia with epilepsy and alternating hemiplegia due to a mutation of the gene SLC1A3 (5p13) coding for a glutamate transporter

-        ataxias episodic types 5 and 7: see familial episodic ataxia
