Benson, disease

Rare. Ocular pathology causing a change in the vitreous body of the eye. The vireous body softens and contains cholesterol containing white opacities floating in the vitreous humor. These opacities produce shimmers in the vitreous body: one speaks of "sparkling synchysis.


Anesthetic implications: 

None reported; eye protection especially in the prone position.
