Danish Economic Council (DORS)
The
Danish Economic Council is an independent, though wholly government-financed,
economic advisory body. Its task is to make independent economic analysis
and forecasts relevant to economic policy and published in Dansk Økonomi.
Its activities can be compared to those of the German Sachverständigenrat
or - except for the extent of the work and size of the institutions - the
Dutch Central Planning Bureau in recent years.
It consists of a broad council
of interest group, government representatives, and a chairmanship of three
independent economists (mostly university professors).
The chairmanship is responsible
for the contents of Dansk Økonomi, however, it receives assistance
from a team consisting of 8-9 full-time economists, a small technical
staff, and a few students who work part-time.
