Sub-Networks Units

This research has two objectives: besides the theoretical objective ascribed to the 'theoretical unit' to deepen the theory of governance and to define the conditions institutional arrangements should respect to ensure the success of collective actions, it also has a more policy-oriented, objective. It seeks both to ‘confirm’ the theoretical result and to provide it with an operative institutional expression. With those objectives in mind, we have selected three thematic domains in which we will bring to the fore the insufficiency of the incentive devices such as currently designed by recent theories of governance, and in which we will identify the institutional expression to give to the 'success conditions' of the learning operation highlighted by our more theoretical research.

1. Theoretical Unit - [ TNU ]

This first thematic research is lead by the theoretical unit of the CPDR

2. Foreign Direct Investment and Human Development - [ FDI ]

The second thematic research is conducted jointly by the CPDR (UCL), LICOS and the IIL (KULeuven).

3. Biodiversity Governance - [ BIOGOV ]

The third thematic research involves the CPDR (UCL), and two associated teams of the university of Ghent: the Laboratory of Microbiology (MICRO) including its "Department of Applied mathematics and Computer Sciences" and the Research Unit on Knowledge-based Systems (KERMIT).

4. Corporate Governance - [ CG ]

The fourth thematic research is carried out by the CPDR (UCL), two teams from the University of Liege : the LENTIC Laboratoire d'Etudes sur les Nouvelles Technologies et le Changement (LENTIC) and a team from the department of company and commercial law, and the Centre for Business Research (CBR) of the University of Cambridge.
