Message of the Coordinator

I want to remind you all about the IAP study day that will be held at the Thermotechnisch Instituut, Kasteelpark Arenberg, Heverlee on Monday, November 23rd. The KULeuven team has put together a new format with parallel sessions in the afternoon, which are focussing on the three workpackages of our Interuniversity Attraction Pole. The full program of the study day is available here. This is an ideal opportunity to learn more about the research topics of DYSCO. I hope to see many of you there.

IAP DYSCO Study Day : Monday November 23, 2015 - Leuven

The programme of this study day is available here.

Workshop on Nonlinear System Identification Benchmarks - April 25-27 2016, Brussels, Belgium

The objective of this workshop is to advance the current knowledge in nonlinear system identification by encouraging the exchange of ideas and the establishment of formal collaborations between the systems and control, mechanical and machine learning communities.

The workshop is structured around three benchmark systems featuring state-of-the-art challenges in nonlinear system identification, namely dynamic nonlinearity, process noise, and short data record. They are a Bouc-Wen hysteretic system, a Wiener-Hammerstein system with process noise, and a cascaded tanks setup, respectively.

Solicited contributions should describe solutions to one or several of these benchmark problems. In particular, comparative overviews of methods would be particularly appreciated.

All details can be found at http://homepages.vub.ac.be/~mschouke/benchmark2016.html. Note that participation involves no registration fee.

Important Dates:

  • Signal your interest in participating: as soon as possible
  • Registration deadline: Friday, January 29, 2016
  • Abstract submission deadline: Friday, March 25, 2016
  • Notification of acceptance/rejection: Thursday, March 31, 2016
