Faculty position in optimization and applications

Telecom ParisTech is seeking applicants for a faculty position in continuous optimization and applications. ParisTech is one of the newly forming collegiate universities in France and brings together eleven of the best French academic institutions.

The position (“Maître de Conférences”) is equivalent to a tenured US assistant professor. Particular interest is in candidates with a multidisciplinary research orientation broadly related to the area of convex optimization with applications to heterogeneous big data. Higher priority will be given to the overall innovation, originality, and promise of the candidate's work than to specific sub-area of research.

An earned Ph.D., the ability to pursue a research program, and a strong teaching commitment to both graduate and undergraduate levels are required. The ability to teach courses related to optimization or applications to machine learning is appreciated.

Applications received by March 6th 2015 will be given full consideration. They should include a cover letter, a detailed resume, a list of publications, a statement of research interests.
