Spoken Learner Corpus Colloquium

 

Organised within the framework of the international LINDSEI project by the Centre for English Corpus Linguistics (CECL), Université catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium

This colloquium, open to the members of the LINDSEI teams internationally, aims to discuss the developments of the Louvain International Database of Spoken English Interlanguage. The LINDSEI collaborators are invited to present their (planned or finished) research on topics including, but not limited to:

•  transcription issues

•  error tagging of spoken learner data

•  features of spoken interlanguage

These issues will also be addressed in working sessions, together with the format and contents of the LINDSEI CD-ROM and accompanying handbook to be published in 2008. In addition, a prototype of the search interface for the French component of LINDSEI will be presented to the participants.

The colloquium will start at 9 am on Thursday 24 January and will end at 5 pm on Friday 25 January. A dinner will be organised on Thursday night. Accommodation will be arranged at the university guesthouse “Le Relais”.
