Introduction


This master can be completed in one year and aims to provide advanced training in Greek and Latin philology, with a focus on grammar, the analysis of authors and linguistic and cultural comparatism. It comprises basic 
  training in classical studies and offers the option to specialise in either of its two fields, Greek or Latin.

Your profile


Students:

  • hold a bachelor’s degree;
  • can provide evidence of proficiency in the following subjects (modern languages and literature (French); ancient languages and literature (Latin), philosophy, history and historical criticism, arts and civilisations, linguistic and literary theory, modern languages and literature).

The 30 credits awarded for the minor in Antiquity: Egypt, Orient, Greece, Rome can be used to meet these requirements. 
   

Your future job


Students of ancient languages and literature are motivated to study by a taste or passion for Antiquity. Where the majority of them choose to sit the teacher training course, half of those work in education.
Ancient studies lead the way for young graduates to enter into the private sector, the public sector and research positions. They perform a variety of roles there for which their education has provided them with the necessary polyvalence, precision and capacity to learn.
 

Your programme


The course comprises a core curriculum (40 credits), made up of Greek and Latin language and literature lessons, the final assignment and an elective (20 credits).
