Content and teaching methods

The lectures are structured according to two axes :
- a methodological approach : to relate (in a critical and historical approach) critical editions and their manuscript(s) ;
- a literary approach to a body of work (alternating from ancient to middle french) : starting from the manuscripts, to extricate the author's implication the esthetic and material elaboration of its work, but also by this mean to outline the rocess and genesis of a work and the literary personality of an author.
Moreover, the lectures shall be illustrated by a couple hours of hands-on workshops with the texts and manuscripts studied, kept at the Bibliothèque royale de Belgique.
