Main themes
At each course, the student is put in situation to regularly produce short texts written in order to tame the French writing. The professor privileges the development of textual competence, i.e. the appropriation of the rules which make it possible to produce well formed texts. The students must thus produce "types of text" (letter, article of newspaper, comment of a photograph, poem, advertising leaflet, rules of play, etc.) who correspond to various stakes (to write to convince, tell, explain, play, etc). At the time of each drafting, the students have the possibility of enriching their vocabulary, of improving their orthography and of going further in certain basic grammatical points (correct use of times, places pronouns in the sentence, etc).

Aim
At the end of the course, students are expected to have reached a B2 level (CEF) in writing.
Method and contents
The course is given in French by a native speaker teacher in accordance to interactive communication. In this course, the student :
each week a text writes which answers a situation of well defined communication
evaluates its texts starting from a grid taking again various competences concerned (pragmatic, textual or linguistic competences)
corrects its texts each week, on the basis of indication of the professor, and thus develops his competences
in the field of the vocabulary, grammar, the orthography, the construction of the sentence and the
construction of the text
Evaluation
- Continuous assessment: the evaluation is done on the basis on the productions carried out in the course of
four-monthly period.
- Written exam.
Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)
Work classifies some is articulated in two times: the first part of the course consists in discovering a situation of communication with party of a document (written, audio or video) and adapting the topic approached in this document by activities in small group; the second part of the course is focused on the drafting of a text which answers the situation of communication seen previously according to the technique of the rewriting (the student writes a text starting from another text-type that it must handle and transform according to precise instructions'). All the texts produced in class are the subject of a weekly correction, according to a grid which makes it possible to the student to distinguish competences that it controls relatively well those that it must still improve (pragmatic, textual or linguistic competences). The student is invited to hold up to date a "passenger waybill" entitled "Lives my blunders", on which it indicates all that the correction of its texts taught him in the fields from the vocabulary, grammar, the orthography, the construction of the sentence and the construction of the text. The material used is very varied (written documents, sound documents, strange documents vidéos, posters, objects, etc) to answer the diversity of the modes of training in the students. The professor alternates the "technical" meetings and the more ludic meetings, calling upon the imaginary one. The progression is done in spiral: the various types of texts are gathered by acts of speech (to tell, describe, explain, advise, inform, convince) and by level of difficulty (of simplest with most complex).
EVALUATION
Half of the evaluation is done on the basis on the productions carried out in the course of four-monthly period.
- FILE (texts written with the courses and corrected at the house) 40%
- PASSENGER WAYBILL ("Lives my blunders") 10%
- EXAMINATION 50%
The examination comprises two parts: the student is initially questioned on the trainings specific carried out to the course (questions of vocabulary, of constructions of sentences and constructions of texts); he must then produce a text according to the same step as that followed to the course (appropriation of the subject by small group and individual writing). For the drafting, it can consult its grammar and its dictionary.
PREREQUISITE
To follow this course, the student must have reached the intermediate level (FRAN 1300, FRAN 1301, FRAN 1400 and FRAN 1401)
