Early-Stage Researcher Awards (PhD Students)

The GPR 2014 Early-Stage Researcher Awards aim to recognise, motivate and acknowledge four excellent and promising young scientists (two with an oral presentation and two with a poster presentation), whose research meet high international standards and represent a significant potential for the future of Ground Penetrating Radar technology, methodology and applications.

The most outstanding oral and poster presentations by PhD students will be awarded with a prize of 250 EUR. Furthermore, the most outstanding oral and poster presentations by PhD students from COST Countries will receive:

- a COST 500,00 EUR Training School Grant*, to attend the Training School on “Civil Engineering Applications of Ground Penetrating Radar,” organised by Action TU1208, to be held in Pisa, Italy, on September 22-25, 2014; and

- a COST Invitation** to the Third General Meeting of Action TU1208, to be held in London, on March 4-6, 2015, to present the further developments of their awarded research works.

An Early-Stage Researcher has to be an Author/co-Author of the paper, and he/she has to present the paper personally, in order to be eligible for the Award. He/she has to be a PhD Student at the time of paper submission.

The names of the awarded young scientists will be officially communicated during the Gala Dinner on Wednesday, July 2, 2014.

* The COST Training School Grant will be corresponded by Action TU1208 following the rules reported in Section 7 of the COST Vademecum, after the school attendance.

** Travel and accommodation expenses will be reimbursed by Action TU1208 after the meeting, following the rules reported in the Section 4 of the COST Vademecum.
